And NEW for 2024!

GONE: THE APPLEBURY MURDERS

A succession of strange murders beset the community of Applebury in Gloucestershire with bodies popping up all over the place and disappearing with worrying regularity.  No one knows what's going on... least of the of all the author!

Scheduled to be published in 2024 this is a slightly different book by Adrian. Liley, mainly because it's not about Percy Gabbitt, marketing or about time travel.  But it's still as mad as ever with strange things happening on every page.

THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE

Adrian Liley: The Marketeer Series (One)

This is the first book in the Marketeer series and introduces the world to Percy Gabbitt and his friends.  The novel has a murder, or a suspected one, lots of mad stuff about 'alternative' marketing methods, a rather ineffective policeman, several mad 'gamers', and our hero travelling to the Far East on an insane marketing trip.  There's also a criminal mastermind known only as The Voice, a set of very principled English teachers and an odious school owner called Nero. The book looks at the seedier side of the language teaching business, while poking fun at pretty much everything.

'The Man in the Middle' is the first part of a two book adventure, 'The Selling Game' being the second novel.

THE SELLING GAME

Adrian Liley: The Marketeer Series (Two)

The story of hapless Percy Gabbitt continues in 'The Selling Game'.  Gabbitt is in the Far East being hunted down by unknown assailants, while back in London, this friends are being similarly harried.  Roger the Norse Fighter and his goblin partner, Tammy, continue their struggles with assorted cave monsters, while Inspector Pringle attempts to arrest anyone remotely associated with Gabbitt.  It all ends on Box Hill in south London with a massive battle involving all the protagonists, along with a very angry bull, an escaped panda, a geriatric Rambo and members of a fantasy gaming group out for a bit of an adventure.

FRIEND OF CHINA

Adrian Liley: The Marketeer Series (Three)

The third novel in the Marketeer series begins a trilogy and covers Percy Gabbitt's life (now in China) and how he joins an undercover organisation called Arapacana Associates.  AA was formed in the aftermath of the Box Hill battle in The Selling Game, and now unofficially 'polices' the English language industry, meting out punishment to transgressors (agents and schools) mercilessly.  The story reaches its climax at a massive convention in Shanghai, where AA decides to 'take down' multiple offenders in one mad 12 hour period.  The book ends with mayhem on the River Huangpu and Gabbitt being carted off to a small prison in nearby Suzhou.  He is to be the scapegoat for the chaos at the workshop.

THE LONG ROAD HOME

THE BATTLE OF PLUMSTEAD MARSHES

Adrian Liley: The Marketeer Series (Six)

This is a stand-alone novel which concentrates on everything that could possibly go wrong in a junior summer centre in the UK.  Most of the action is actually based on real events, over a twenty year period surviving this industry.  The story is also loosely based on the film 'Zulu', for some crazy reason which is best left unexplained here.  The plot looks at the oddities of the junior summer school industry, as well as examining racism, feminism, drugs and courage and bravery in all its strangest forms.

THE RELUCTANT
ANTI-MARKETEER

Adrian Liley: The Marketeer Series (Eight)

Percy Gabbitt is back and causing trouble again.  He's been kidnapped, roughed up, tortured and is now being held in a bad replica of 'The Village' from the iconic 60s TV series, The Prisoner.  Naturally, mayhem, chaos and total carnage ensue in a very postmodern way.

This is the second and concluding book to the story begun in Rogue Marketeer.

OLAF'S SAGA

Stephen Liley

'Olaf's Saga' is an historical novel chronicling one Norse man's life in the late 8th century . The story is told by J¿n Loftsson a direct descendent of the protagonist, some four hundred years later to his adopted son Snorri. The tale descibes Olaf's background and his upbringing in the harsh Viking world. Olaf has life changing events thrust upon him and as a result he has to make his way in 'Midgard' - the world of men.As a young Norse man, Olaf sees the first brutal death of a Saxon by one of his kind. He takes part in the early raids on Christian monasteries located at remote sites around Britain; experiencing the joy of success and the despair of failure. The entire text is punctuated with references to the Norse pantheon, with characters at times speaking in their all but forgotten language (translations are provided). There are also many references to Norse technology of the time such as their boats - the drakkar and knarr, their weapons, as well as number systems, time telling and various religious festivals. 'Olaf's Saga' not only paints a full and detailed picture of the Norse World, but also tells an intriguing and spell-binding story.

THE CURSE OF THE DRAGON SHIP

Stephen Liley

The Curse of the Dragon Ship is a second historical novel on the OLAF SAGA TRIlOGY, about a Norse man's life in Midgard - the real Middle Earth of the late 8th century.  The story is a continuation of OLAF'S SAGA.

The tale is narrated by Jon Loftsson to his adopted son, Snorri, in the small community of Oddi in the Rangarvellir district of Iceland, some four hundred years after the events took place.

The Curse of the Dragon Shop begins with Olaf on the Orkney Islands looking back on a disastrous raid and determined to right things.

There are many references to the Viking way of life and their everyday beliefs and worship.

THE SANCTUM QUEST

CHARLES LILEY   STEPHEN LILEY   ADRIAN LILEY

Two men are sitting in a room drinking.  One had thick mud on his boots and the other was dead.  Both were holding extremely large brandies.

"Nothing is what it seems," said the dead man.

And so begins the second Sanctum novel in the Sanctum series created by CHARLES LILEY.  The story is mostly set in the time of King John and his ill-fated wagon train across the Wash in East Anglia.

The Anti-Marketeer's Handbook

ADRIAN LILEY

Telling everybody that your product is terrible, walking away from the deal, packing your briefcase with small teddy bears and... if all else fails, throwing up on a possible client, all have a place at the anti-marketeer's dinner table.

And then there is postmodernism - there is always postmodernism when things get strange and out of hand.  The Anti-Marketeer's Handbook delves into such concepts as de-differentiation, paradoxical juxtaposition and appropriation, while keeping a blurred eye on reverse-psychology, minimalism and ethical, scared and engagement marketing and selling.

It is a mixed bag of delights told in an easy-going and readable way.

The Anti-Marketeer's Handbook
(Director's Cut)

ADRIAN LILEY

No, this is not the same as the book above.  It is an updated version packed with more stuff, up-to-date insights, silly diagrams, spirals and a rather impressive wheel.

There' even a section on COVID and its effects on marketing at that time.

HOW TO DO IT ALL THE WRONG WAY... AND STILL SUCCEED

ADRIAN LILEY

Another book on postmodernist anti-marketing to thrill you all.  Yes, it's broadly along the same lines as The Anti-Marketeer's Handbook, but is infinitely more readable and... has a much expanded list of practical examples (from 20 to an astonishing 50).
